New Operating Procedures

In line with Government measures for the reopening of sports facilities, the snooker club will reopen on Friday 31 July.

The booking system will operate as previously, but new operating procedures, detailed below, will be put in place until further notice. All members must comply with these procedures.

Entering the Club

There is nowhere outside the Club to store wipes, so please bring some with you if you wish to wipe down the gate and padlock to the grounds, the key safe (the code to which is 1930) and keys before using them to open the clubhouse door.

On entering the club please wash your hands and use the hand sanitisers that will be made available.

Before playing

Members are likely to be more incentivised to wipe down surfaces before playing rather than after, when they may be keen to leave. Wiping down beforehand also means members are taking responsibility for their own welfare and are not reliant on the last person who played having done a thorough job.

Using the cleaning materials that will be provided, ensure that the following have all been wiped down before playing on, or before using:

  • All wooden edges of the snooker table
  • Rests and cue extensions
  • The scoreboard
  • The triangle
  • The table brush and nap device
  • The balls
  • Light switches
  • Chalks
  • Anything else you think needs a clean

While playing

Because of the lack of ventilation in the Club, it is recommended (weather permitting) that you leave the door open.

Toilet and hand basin

Paper towels will be provided for drying hands and these should be disposed of in the waste bin after use. The towels will be removed until further notice.

Paying for frames

Cash payments are to be discontinued. Wipe the book then enter details of date, frames played and amounts due in the normal way, but do not put any cash in the pot. Instead, make an online payment to the following account:

Account number:      69636184

Sort code:                    60-02-48

As the reference for the payment, please enter your name and date.

If you are unable to make online payments, please let me know.

On leaving the Club

Lock up and leave in the normal way. There is no need to wipe anything down, as this will be done by the next person playing.

We hope that these measures will not detract from your enjoyment of the game and that after a while the regular cleaning activity will become part of the routine.
